Revelations 21:8 says adultery will take you to hell. How can this be? If I have quickly recited a sinner’s prayer and obtained my fire insurance, then I should be able to sleep around with anyone and still go to heaven. Right? Wrong. That’s a lie from the pit of hell, and a very effective one at that.
People who claim this do not understand how deadly sin is and do not know the meaning of repentance. If your heart is full of adultery, Revelations 21:8 says you are headed for the lake of fire. You can cry out that this is a doctrine of works and legalism, but if the Bible is truly the Word of God, the only decision we have in the matter is to decide whether we believe God is telling the truth or whether he is telling a lie. It is really that cut and dry.
Satan hates the kingdom of God. If possible, he would like to wreck it completely, but since he cannot, the next best thing he can do is to try to camaflouge it. Because of this, Satan has no interest in opposing churches that dishonor God. He would rather have them growing wildly.
When people gather to feel holy while living in sin, Satan is very well pleased. When people are living in compromise and hypocrisy, new Christians who are looking for a place to grow in Christ can be snuffed out. Sin is justified, excused, condoned, approved, and encouraged, and the only time sin is discouraged is when it helps hypocrites feel “holier than thou”.
Watch how Church members will cry out against gross pornography one minute and then attend an R rated movie the next. Look at how they cry out against sin, but they will pay someone to sin so they can watch and be titillated. Do you think God is pleased in the least by this hypocrisy? Why are those like Hugh Heffner living in mansions while ministers and their families like mine must live in near poverty in order to share the Word of God with others? Why?
Why do some churches advocate adultery? How many pastors trusted with a congregation will lead their congregations to hell endorsing sin and performing adulterous marriages? Bring this up and watch them squirm to hush it up, to excuse it, to advocate tolerance and admonish not to judge. Were Jesus here in the flesh, they would just as soon accuse him of being overly naive.
Adultery leads to hell, and the pastor who advocates it hates his congregation, betrays his congregation, mocks Christ, takes God’s name in vain, and endeavors to send his congregation to hell.
This behavior may be socially acceptable, but it is not acceptable to God, and it is not acceptable to God for one to support such a ministry. One might do better in the eyes of God giving sacrificially to the local witches coven or the church of Satan. At least those churches truthfully identify themselves as sinful instead of going undercover.
Adultery is one sin that must be abandoned completely to be faithful to Christ.
